When the user pushes once on the transmitter activation button the combination beacon's orientation sound starts, a second push turns off the orientation sound and instead the recorded message is heard. When the recorded message has ended, the combination beacon automatically reverts to standby mode, waiting for the next activation signal from the transmitter. If the speech function is not started from the transmitter, then the orientation sound is automatically shut down after a period which is set on the timer. The orientation sound can be changed using easily accessible controls on the underside of the beacon, which also control the tone length, pause time between tones, tone frequency, volume and timer function
The combination beacon is specially designed for situations where guidance
to a goal is needed, followed by information about the goal.
The beacons require little power. Batteries need to be changed once per year.
