When the user presses once on the transmitter activation
button, the combination beacon orientation sound begins, and a second
push on the same button switches off the orientation sound, at the same time
starting the recorded message. When the recorded message ends, the
combination beacon automatically returns to standby mode and waits for the
next activation from the transmitter.
If the speech function is not started from the transmitter, the orientation sound is automatically turned off after a period which can be set on the timer. The orientation sound can be changed using the easily-accessible controls under the beacon. These also control the tone length, pause time between tones, tone frequency, volume and timer functions. The combination beacon is specially designed for situations where guidance to a goal is needed, followed by information about the goal. The combination beacon has rechargeable batteries (1400 mA) and is designed for flexible use, for fixed installation, with solar cells as power source or with simple electrical installation, i.e. low-power current from a transformer or battery charger to the beacon. the beacon has a built-in charge regulator and can be run on either AC or DC current. If a permanent electricity supply is used, the batteries can provide emergency backup for approximately 800 h. Two to three sunny days per month are sufficient for maintenance free operation. |
